Nikki Giovanni

Nikki Giovanni was born in Knoxville,Tennessee in 1943 she had one older sister her grandmother was a outspoken person which gave Nikki Giovanni a lot of exposure and gave her a opportunity to expose her poetry to the world. Giovanni first published poetry came from the assassinations of people like martin Luther king Malcolm X 2pac. Nikki Giovanni first published poetry book was called Black Judgement and was released in 1968. She writes poems to inspire and relate to others but she likes her poems to be lyrical and make sense ans still be able to be read by whoever is reading the book.
